IE Code Registration

An IEC is a PAN-based number allotted to a person or entity that is mandatory for undertaking any export/import activities.

An import export code is a unique 10-digit code for companies and businesses that deals with import-export. The code is issued by the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Department of Ministry of Commerce in India. In India no one can operate as an importer/exporter without getting the IEC.

The IEC code is a pan-based registration certificate, it is required by importers to clear customs and shipment, and to transfer money to foreign banks.

It is a one-time registration process to obtain a license that can be utilized by the company and no need for any renewal. The organization can expand its trading activity abroad with no issues at the time of getting IEC.
