Fire License Registration

Fire license means a license provided by the state government for the safety measures of the people. It is a precautionary measure where the places are likely to cause fire. The license is mandatory for certain types of business which is mentioned in the Tamilnadu Fire Service Rules.

The occupiers or owners of any premises in their opinion are utilized for different uses which are likely to cause a fire, and other related risks need to take precautions as prescribed in the Fire License Registration or No Objection Certificate as per the Section 13 Fire Service Act.

The Fire Service director can take action to remove or detain objectionable goods or objects, which act as an essential reason for the risk of fire, if the occupier or owner fails to take action as per the notice provided to them, anyone who fails without any valuable reasons will cause to comply with the requirements indicated in the notification provided will be charged a fine or supplied with the punishment.

    Yes, Fire license is mandatory in Tamilnadu.

    One year is the validity period of a Fire license; it can be renewed after one year, with the help of an existing certificate.

    • Install fire extinguishers in your residence and teach family members how to use them.
    • Install smoke alarms on every level of your residence and do proper maintainece.
    • Never store flammable materials in your room or apartment.
    • Never smoke in bed or when drowsy or medicated. Provide smokers with deep, sturdy ashtrays. Douse cigarette and cigar butts with water before disposal.
    • Have the electrical wiring in your residence checked by an electrician.
    • Sleep with your door closed.
    • Never use flammable liquids indoors.
    • Never smoke near flammable liquids.
